Someone come kick me into gear today, please!

I'm just having one of those days where I don't feel like doing ANYTHING. Granted, it's only 10-something in the morning and I slept a little late, but still. There are plenty of things to do around here, and I just don't feel like doing any of them.

I promised DH that I would pack my hospital bag soon, so I should probably try to do that today. Especially since I'm "term" now and Little Guy could seriously come any day. My midwife is having me come back on Tuesday because my blood pressure was a little high yesterday. If it's still high, she'll check me and possibly do a membrane sweep. Just from her external checking, she said his head is extremely low and asked me if I feel like he has dropped yet. I'm short-waisted so honestly, I can't tell. All I know is that my hips hurt less after last night's sleep than they have in MONTHS. So that's exciting. (Oh, and the membrane sweep? She said that IF it works, he'll be here after 3 days, max. So that could have me holding my baby in my arms by next Friday. That possibility both terrifies and thrills me to no end.)

We had a great Labor Day weekend with DH's parents. Seriously, we are SO spoiled, and we know it and are so thankful for it. We ended up coming home with even more baby stuff, a dress for me to wear postpartum, a couple new ties for DH to wear to work, and we bought ourselves a blender with a food processor attachment with a gift card we had. I am SO excited about the blender! I've been wanting one for ages, to do smoothies with. Our first attempt with them the other night sucked, to be honest, but I've looked up some recipes and hopefully our next batch will be good. :) I want to try some green smoothies with stuff like kale or spinach and just not tell DH what's in them. A little veggies will be good for him!

My brain is officially ready for fall. (I know, I may have mentioned that before, right?) So I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and bought myself the "ingredients" for a fall wreath for our front door! All of the little items were 40% off except for the actual wreath itself, so I showed them the online coupon and got 40% off of that, too. :) Savvy shopper in the hizzouse. I agonized over what kind of design I wanted, what colors to use, etc etc. Our front door is red so OBVIOUSLY I couldn't do red fall items because it'd blend in, and where's the fun in that? So I ended up with creamy/yellowish and orange, and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm looking forward to the day that I have a decorating budget that allows me to deck the halls for every season and holiday. Fall wreath this year, ceramic pumpkin centerpiece next year? I think yes.

And so begins the momentous task...

...of registering for baby stuff.

Ack. How is it already time for this?!? I swear, I just found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago, right? What? It was five months yesterday? Wait, that means he'll be here in...*counts on fingers, blood drains from face*...oh my gosh. In four months.

I am seriously behind on this "preparing for baby" stuff. We've done approximately one thing to get ready for him: nothing. Big, fat, nothing. Well, ok, we've partially sanded some furniture that we're going to repaint. But that's it, and it's nowhere NEAR being done. I think all along, I've had this sense of, "Oh, it's fine, we have plenty of time before he gets here." But then suddenly, his arrival is only 4 months away, and we still have EVERYTHING to do. And I may or may not be freaking out really badly.

Our plan is that we're going to bust it in gear on Memorial Day weekend and just get it all done. Finish sanding the furniture, hopefully get it painted (so thankful that FIL has a paint sprayer we're borrowing, because it will be so much faster), get the nursery arranged how we want it, put up the decorations we have so far, and then just sit back and wait. We're probably going to order the crib in the next couple weeks, too, so at least we've chosen one and know it's for sure the one we want. And this weekend, while we're up visiting MIL, we're going to go register for baby stuff. Honestly, I have no stinkin' clue what we need. I always think of the big things and forget small stuff like diaper cream and wash rags. So I'm basically just going to slowly walk through every blessed isle of the store and ask myself, "Do I need this? Do I need this?" It was hard doing a wedding registry because we couldn't even think of enough stuff to register for, and we ended up going back to add onto it because people bought almost all of our stuff and they were running out of stuff to get us. (I was given FOUR wedding showers. Four. No wonder we ran out of stuff!) I'm being given two baby showers, so hopefully it won't be a problem this time.

And in case everyone is wondering (since everyone in real life seems to be wondering), no, Wee Laddie does not have a name yet. And we probably won't name him until he's born. I'm afraid to give him a name and then him come out and just not seem to match his name. And also, DH is super non-committal about deciding on anything right now. He thinks we should wait for the name to "come to us"...I laughed. Sure, DH, we'll do that. Or maybe not.

Time for the obligatory belleh picture. This was taken Wednesday at 21 weeks. Still no stretch marks, and I'm feeling pretty good most of the time! Let's hope both those things are true in the next few weeks!

Oh, allergies...

The pollen. Please, someone make it stop. I can't breathe through my nose. The Neti pot brings no relief. It's starting to leave blood on the tissues from my frequent nose blowing, and I almost threw up in the sink from gagging on the drainage down the back of my throat.

The weather is beautiful, I won't deny that. For days now, I've left the windows and back door open to let the beautiful warm air in (which is stopping now as I hide indoors from the pollen) and it kept us from having to run the air conditioning. But my car is covered with a fine sheen of yellow tree pollen, and my sinuses are screaming for relief. Sinus headaches are the worst. I don't want to dope myself up because I'm very hesitant to take medication while pregnant, so maybe I'll have to resort to using the Neti pot several times a day. Of course, I'm paranoid about using the Neti pot now because of the people who died from amoebas in the water that crawled into their brains...

DH and I are working to get our bedroom/baby room organized. My FIL is bringing us some furniture this weekend and we need to get that room cleaned up so that we can have space for the fairly large furniture. I found the PERFECT nursery online, and emailed the link to my mom and MIL, and they both were totally in love. Showed it to DH and he smiled and said, "You're going to hate me, because I don't like that at all." I laughed and told him that I really don't care if he dislikes it...I'm doing it anyway lol. With some mild color tweaking, it would work for a boy or a girl, so I'm pretty much sold. It'll take work to talk DH into it but I think realistically, he doesn't care THAT much.

Speaking of baby, I'm 14 weeks pregnant now. Things are going great, as far as I can tell. I can feel a lot of stretching and pulling sensations, but no movement yet. (Darn that anterior placenta.) It gets uncomfortable at times, and I had my first experience with RLP the other day, but it's reassuring because I know those things are normal. I have my centering group meeting on Tuesday and my mom gets to go with me, so I'm looking forward to that. Things are going fairly smoothly in our lives here, and what a blessing that is.

I'll try to update a little more consistently, but to be honest, I'm losing my drive to post. Lots of reasons for that, but for the sake of my audience of 2, I'll work on my motivation issues.
