For most of my life, I've had absolutely no interest in scrapbooking. It looked like something that old ladies did. (And the fact that my own sweet grandmother scrapbooks only helped reinforce that idea in my mind.) But then I worked for a little while with a scrapbooking company, got a lot of free/lightly damaged goodies, and learned how awesome it could be. It lets you be artistic without having to possess an ounce of drawing or painting ability.
After we lost our first baby, I put scrapbooking on hold. I had scrapped a few layouts of my bloat, and while I couldn't bring myself to throw them away, I also couldn't stand to see them. I had so looked forward to scrapping pictures of the ultrasounds and then the baby, and I felt like that had been stolen from me. But today I was looking at layouts on www.studiocalico.com (yep, company I used to work for) and saw some seriously cute baby ones. I decided to be brave and go ahead and do a layout with one of our ultrasound pictures.
I'm a perfectionist when it comes to any and all things baby related, so I still am not sure if I'm done with this layout. But DH likes it, and I'm afraid to keep going in case I make it look overdone. I tried to keep it fairly gender neutral since we don't know if it's a boy or girl, but I couldn't resist throwing in a little pink. (I really, really like pink.) And buttons.
I really need to start documenting this whole pregnancy journey better. Maybe I can use my bump progess cellphone pictures to make some kind of moderately cute scrapbook layout. Anyone have some motivation and creativity for sale?
