Now, I am not a sports kinda girl. I played basketball, I will watch the Superbowl, but other than that, I tend to just not care.
But I have discovered a new love. Well, actually, 15 of them.
My first encounter with the New Zealand All Blacks rubgy team was in the movie
Invictus. They had a match with the Springboks and I was amazed at the Haka. But I was totally lost when it came to the rules of rugby. Did they just lift that guy up in the air? How come they can pick the ball up and run some more when that guy just got tackled?
Yesterday, the NZ All Blacks were on TV, and I decided to
drool watch the match. They were playing against Canada. The Haka was great, and Google helped me figure out the rules a little. (Just a little.) And I've decided that rugby is officially the coolest sport ever. Those guys go hard, with no stopping, for a long time. No padding, but they still play very full contact. It makes American football look really sissy. In the end, NZ tore Canada to pieces. And I discovered the most spectator-friendly sport in the world.
